About the Playwright
Jeremy Sony is an Ohio-based playwright and screenwriter whose stage plays are available
for licensing to schools, youth theatres, and community stages. His works — including
The Last Queen of Wonderland, Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter, and
Robin Hood and the Secret of Sherwood — have been produced by Tantrum East,
Nashville Rep, Available Light, MadLab Theatre, Curtain Players, and The Last Frontier
Theatre Conference, among others. He has been commissioned by the City of Grove City,
Ohio for original historical works and holds an MFA in playwriting from Ohio University.

Theatre, Curtain Players, Luna Theatre Company, the Little Theatre Off Broadway, and The Last
Frontier Theatre Conference, among others, as well as by schools and youth theatre programs
nationally and internationally.
His plays include The Last Queen of Wonderland, Sleepy Hollow: The Lost
Chapter, Robin Hood and the Secret of Sherwood, and Mars, Ohio, among
more than a dozen full-length and short works — all available on the New Play Exchange. Sony
was commissioned by the City of Grove City, Ohio to create original historical plays for
public performance, including The Century Box, commemorating the bicentennial of
Jackson Township, and The Women of Grove City, created as part of the America 250
celebration.
As a screenwriter, Sony wrote the feature film Separation Anxiety, directed by
Cole Simon and produced by Glass City Films. The film won Best Drama at the Riverbend Film
Festival, and screened at festivals across the United States.
Sony holds an MFA in playwriting from Ohio University, where he was named an Anthony
Trisolini Graduate Fellow and received the Scott McPherson Playwriting Award. He resides in
central Ohio, where he is inspired daily by his wife, sons, and their clowder of cats.
