JEREMY SONY is a writer, husband, father, and effulgent dreamer. He has written close to a dozen full-length plays, a few film scripts, and more short plays than he can count. Some of his favorites include MARS OHIO, THE LAST QUEEN OF WONDERLAND, SLEEPY HOLLOW: THE LOST CHAPTER, and PATHOGENESIS. His plays have been developed/produced by Tantrum East, Nashville Rep, Theatre Daedalus, Available Light, MadLab Theatre, Curtain Players, Luna Theatre, and The Last Frontier Theatre Conference, among others, as well as by schools and youth theatre programs nationally and internationally. Sony earned his MFA in Playwriting from Ohio University, where he was named an Anthony Trisolini Graduate Fellow and received the Scott McPherson Playwriting Award. He is an alum of the Ingram New Works Lab at Nashville Rep, and currently serves as a mentor to high school playwrights for MadLab Theatre's Young Writers program in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Jeremy Sony is a Midwest-based writer whose plays include Madeline Shelley and the World of Monsters (New Covenant Players), Out of the Darkness (Available Light 24 Hour Theatre 2016), The Last Queen of Wonderland (ClassAct Dramatics at Street Theatre Co.), The Century Box (World Premiere, Little Theatre Off Broadway), Robin Hood and the Secret of Sherwood (Curtain Players; Class Act Dramatics @ STC); Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Chapter (ClassAct Dramatics @ STC); The View at the End (Available Light 24 Hour Theatre 2014); Parallaxis and Cuckold Walks Into A Bar (MadLab Theatre Roulette 2014); Advice to the Happy Couple (MadLab, Theatre Roulette 2013); and The Cosmonaut in Human Resources (Luna Theatre).  

His plays have also been seen and developed at Nashville Rep, Penobscot Theater, Playhouse Nashville's Ten Minute Playhouse, Western Michigan University, The Last Frontier Theatre Conference, Ohio University MFA Playwrights Workshop, and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. 

​Sony received his M.F.A. in Playwriting at Ohio University and B.A. in Film & Television at the University of Notre Dame.  He has studied under playwrights Charles Smith, Erik Ramsey, Merri Biechler, Mark Pilkinton, Doug Wright, and Kara Lee Corthron. 

Sony lives in central Ohio with his wife and sons where he stays active in local theatre. His plays have been staged locally with Curtain Players, MadLab, Available Light, Theatre Daedalus, LTOB, Mouth of the Wolf, Westerville Parks & Rec, and the City of Grove City. He has served as a mentor for the MadLab Young Writers program since 2017, and ran the Curtain Players New Works Initiative from 2018-2022.
